
Bridgestone lines up Rs 600 cr to widen capacity, upgrade tech at Pune plant

It will increase the plant's capacity for producing tyres for the passenger car market in terms of technologies and capacities, it was said.
"Bridgestone India is bringing in its global technologies and manufacturing for the Indian market so as to suit the needs of aspiring Indian consumers that want more fuel-efficient tyres, and better products to suit the improved quality of Indian roads," Bridgestone India Managing Director Stefano Sanchini stated.
The company is committed to offering sustainable mobility solutions as a global leader in tyre technology, and the current investment of 70 million euros is in this direction, he continued.
The corporation, however, did not provide information regarding the current production capacity of the Chakan-based plant or how much it will increase over the following three years. 2013 saw the start of production at the facility.
